The Memory Box | Part 1

Hello everyone!

The other day during a mass bedroom clean, I found my old memory box! It used to be all in an old camera box, but I've since bought a nice one from the Range and while sorting through it all, I took pictures of everything. Here's the first part of three installments of my memory lane trip!

Hope you enjoy this as there is a lot of things within! Be prepared for lots of pictures!

First up, the amazing memory box! I've since gone and bought a second one as this is now full up!

Left: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat musical program. We went to see this in York in 2001 I believe! I remember loving it and even now, it is still one of my faves.
Right: After a holiday to Great Yarmouth with some family friends, I made this booklet of some of the funny pictures from the trip!

Left: When I left my Junior School in June/July 2004, all of our year group received one of these.
Right: Abbie's note that was in my first ever box swap!

Left: Photobooth stickers! I remember being 13 and seeing these machines in Tammy and spending almost £50 in one month on them with my friends! I used them all up, however while on holiday in Cornwall, my family and our friends found one, and we use it each year! These are from 2007 and onwards!
Right: My 21st birthday badge off the card Dad gave me, and some of the confetti I managed to keep hold of!

Left: Memory sticks - Take a popsicle stick and write a memory on each side of it! I haven't made any more since about 2005, but there are some pretty good ones on these!
Right: My first tax disc!

Left: When my cousin Shannon was Christened, her mum (my aunt) bought all four of her nieces one of these necklaces.
Right: The little silver pendant. I've never worn it as I'm scared I'll break it!

Left: My 2nd birthday present! Mum and Dad got this book printed for me! It's a story about how on my birthday I have to go on a quest to find my birthday stone which was stolen by a dragon so I can help some fairies restore the rainbow!
Right: My legoland medal from our first trip there. The green frog on the far right is very special to me. While waiting in the line to go into Windsor Castle, a husband and wife couple from China were in front of us and had been talking to Mum & Dad. My sister was asleep in her pram and I was about 6 years old, so they had spoken to the parents and me for a second, before the woman reached into her purse and pulled this out. She asked Mum if she could give this to me and then take a picture of me, as she'd not seen 'such a pretty girl with green eyes' before as back in their country, their eyes are darker. Mum agree, and I've kept this ever since. That amazing woman is the reason why I've never had many body/appearance issues.

Left: A thank you message, a wedding favour and the wedding invite for Simon & Sarah's wedding!
Right: This is the wrist band that was on me the day I was born! Never got rid of it!

Left: A plethora of cinema tickets. (Top let to the bottom: Depsicable Me 2, Deathly Hallows Part 2, Johnny English 2, Iron Man 3, The Hunger Games, Journey to Mysterious Island 2, Mamma Mia!)
Right: A range of the train tickets I've got from 2011 to 2013!

Hope you liked this first part of my memory box! Do you have a memory box at all? Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Crazy Cousin!

Hello everyone!

So a couple weeks ago, my mum invited my Grandparents (her parents) round for the day along with my 8 year old cousin Shannon! We've not really seen them for almost 2 year, other than a family funeral last year which doesn't count! We spent the day playing on Shannon's DS and then it turned into a mass photoshoot in the garden with her!

The little pickle! This was after we'd chased her around the house for a while, and then she ducked behind the chair to play hide-and-seek.

We wanted to do the classic 'jump in the air' picture. On the left is one of the almost 20 failed attempts at this! I finally managed it! I've been laughing at the left picture the whole time I've wrote this post!

Next Shannon decided to show us how to do a push up which was really good considering I can't even get into the position to try one! Then the second round of hide and seek commenced, and she hid behind the door!

Once Shannon and the Grandparents had to go, me and the sibling had one of our usual 'last minute' photo sessions! I was mainly messing around with the filters on the camera and these two happened! My sister is so damn pretty, it's not fair!

Just a small post on what we got up to! I took a load more pictures than this, but I didn't want to bore you all with the many outtakes of the jumping pictures! Hope you're all having a great day and keep safe :)

*If you are going to comment about Shannon, please keep it nice as she's only 8.

Last Year I Was... | Tag

Hello everyone!

I saw this tag on BVL's blog last month, and finally decided to do it! This is the 'Last Year I Was...' tag, where you compare last year and this year! So here it goes....

Yes that's right... I managed to find a picture of myself exactly a year apart and wow. The 2013 pictures is from my Florida holiday and I've got powder and mascara on only... 2014 is the full works! Definitely look better now! :)

What was the best thing to happen to you last year? What was the best thing that has happened to you this year?
Last year the best thing that happened to me was breaking off my engagement and relationship with the ex. It wasn't a good relationship near the end, and after almost five years together, I just had enough of some things that had been happening (among a lot of other crap). I felt a lot better a few months later and it meant I was now able to 'spread my wings' and get back into the things I love before the relationship. YouTube, blogging, friends, down time, all were things I got back and I am miles happier now.
The best thing this year has to be my nephew being born, having a car for a year and not crashing it, reconnecting with friends and my blog. I'm thankful for so much this year and it's only just turned May!

What was your fashion sense like last year? What is it like this year?
Last year and this year is still pretty much the same. However, I am now happier to wear dresses and skirts a little more. I'm still at the same level of confidence within myself (so about 70% happy!) and I've taken to getting nicer things! The only thing I've changed this year is that I've introduced a lot of 'nerd' tops into my wardrobe. Marvel and Harry Potter tees have taken over!

What was your makeup like last year? What is it like this year?
Last year I was only wearing powder and mascara. I had no idea what other products were last April, and if I knew of them, I couldn't have told you the difference between a blusher and highlighter. I've got oily and shiny skin at the best of times, so powder was my way of hiding that and my mascara was just there to define my eyes a little more! I didn't get into makeup until about October last year!
Fast forward a year and I've got a full face on when I go outside. Foundation, powders, concealer, mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow - the works. If it's a night out, I go berserk with my colours. Day to day is neutrals and browns, but nights out with the girls brings out neons! I've had to teach myself how to use everything, learn what all the brushes are - thank you bbloggers and YouTube! I'm still figuring out the eyebrow filling in though!

What was your hair style like last year? What is it like this year?
Nothing has really changed with my hair! As long as it is clean and I can whip it up into a ponytail and a moments notice, I'm happy! The only change is that it's grown about three inches and I now have a side parting!

What were your ambitions like late year? What are they this year?
Ambitions are not something I really think about to be honest! I suppose I had briefly though of the non-wedding, but other than that, it was just to get through my job each weekend! However once October hit, I got into blogging and liked that. This year rolled round and I'd kept at blogging for a few months, and six months later I'm still blogging each week and loving it. An ambition now is to get through work when I am there, and then see where my blog takes me. It's made me realise how much I love writing.

Hope you enjoyed this, and if you've done this tag or want to do it, I tag you! Let me know with a comment below if you've done one so I can check it out. Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
