5 Reasons Why I Love Being A Blogger

I've had this little slice of internet for almost 5 years now, and I can honestly say that becoming a blogger, was the best thing I've ever done. It started as an accidental hobby, and has flourished into something I'm really passionate about. Plus, I enjoy nothing more than sitting curled in bed and typing up all these posts!

I've had some pretty good moments since starting this blog, and also some lows. However, today I wanted to share with you some of the reasons I love doing this so much.

Community
I've met many people over the last 4-5 years. I've had a few people who were very helpful at the start who helped me with some simple blog tips and layout tips for me. I've yet to do a blogger meet up or event, as I am chronically shy with that sort of thing - but I hope to get to one some day in the future. There are some really lovely bloggers online, and you'll find a load of them on Twitter, promoting their blogs, just like me!

Photography
Granted, my picture taking skills haven't got a lot better over the years, but I've got a lot better with flat lay images, and very basic photoshop skills. It took me 2 years of blogging to even edit a picture. These days, they're a lot brighter and 90% of the time, they're a clean image and not blurred! I've got a lot better at framing subjects as well.

Networking
I didn't know that blogging was something that companies even knew about back when I started in 2013. Since then, I've worked with a small handful of companies, and have been very kindly gifted some items to review. I've also got an on-going relationship with a publisher company which is something I never thought this could lead to.

Social Media Know-How
Back in 2013, I'd had Twitter for 4 years, and a Facebook for 5 years. Instagram wasn't a big thing back then, so I was still learning how to use them to my advantage. Since then, I've got the hang of Twitter and Pinterest - but Instagram was one of them until that stupid update. What was the days of 100+ likes an image has sunk to a sad 30+ if I'm lucky. All my other social media has thrived as I've learned how to use it to my advantage!

Writing Skills
As someone who loves writing, I was still getting used to writing long ass blog posts for 5 times a week, but have settled on a happy 3 day week now. I've become faster at typing, and my spelling has somewhat improved a bit over time. I still make typos, like a lot of us do, but this has helped me whack out a few posts per day, so they're ready to be scheduled.

If you're a blogger, what are your reasons? And are they similar to mine? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Health & Fitness Planner

I've been getting a bit bad with my food and drink habits over the last year - and although I done a 30 day fizzy drink ban, I fell off that wagon and haven't managed to hop back on it. After browsing around Hobbycraft's locale store a few weeks ago, I found this Health Planner. For only £15, I thought it was a good price for what was inside, so I instantly purchased it.

The journal itself is a sturdy ring journal, with hard front and back covers. I love the colours of this, as it's nice and bright - plus the writing on the front isn't obvious for what's inside it. It has an elasticated silver band to keep it bound together - a touch I like, so it doesn't spring open in my bag. it also comes with 90 stickers at the front of the journal, so you can have a little bit of decoration for your pages.

The first page is a pretty standard one. You just fill out the details and the minimum goal you want to achieve, and the different percentages you'd like to get down to. I've blurred out my details for personal reasons, but I might show it one day when I hit the goal.

Inside you also have a:

  • Monthly targets page
  • Weekly check-in
  • Exercise Log
  • Event Planner
  • Weekly Meal Planner
  • Recipes
  • Notes

I can't see my using the events pages, as I don't plan on doing any marathons or fun-runs any time soon, but they're good for people who are working towards a target with smaller events. I love the weekly check in, as I can fill in my water and fruit intake for each day, to see where I can improve. My recipe pages are blank so far, as I'm not cooking anything from complete scratch, and if I do, it's something I know off by heart.

I've been doing this for 3 weeks now, and have lost just over 3lbs in weight, which I am really happy about.

Is this something you'd be interested in using to track your health and fitness? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Orlando Holiday Diary: Day 10 - Magic Kingdom!

So we wake up, power is still on, so we all start charging all our things up as practically all our electronics were dying at this point. 7:30am rolled around, and then suddenly it all went off again. The heat quickly filled the villa again, so we took this as out cue to leave and head to Magic Kingdom before we got too disgruntled! We arrived at Magic Kingdom on the ferry again, as this was our fave way of getting there - plus the monorail was soooo busy.

We ventured onto a few rides we hadn't managed to do on our last trip, but this time were just taking our time and strolling around the park. We also started taking full advantage of the Photo Pass Photographers, so we made sure to get a lot of pictures for our Memory Maker this time around. We had a quick drink at Gaston's bar, before we located the Little Mermaid ride! After this, we tried to go on the Snow White mine train ride, but the ride had been shut, so this didn't happen!

We went back on the People Mover for a little sit down, as we had some time before our Haunted Mansion fastpass. I'd not been on the Haunted Mansion ride before, and it was really good, and it even managed to make me jump near the end! When we came out, we had a picture taken with one of the Grim Grinning Ghosts!

After the Huanted Mansion, we went to Peco Bill's for a drink - and one of the servers was nice enough to give me a free drink as I was wearing my birthday badge! After this little stop, we had fastpasses to meet Tiana and Rapunzel, and then Mickey! I'm such a bit Punzie fan, that I was grinning like a kid the entire time we were doing to meet up!

When we got back to the villa, there was still now power, so to keep us busy and hopefully cool, I decided to drag the three of us to Disney Springs for a little look around. We spent a good hour in the Disney store, and had a late evening snack at the Earl of Sandwich. One the way back to the car, we found an Amphicar launch area, and got to see a car come in from the lake and onto the land!

While watching this, there was a band playing at the bar next door, and they were really good, but I never caught the name, so if anyone knows, please tell me!

We arrived back to the villa, and were happy to find the power had been resorted properly, and we had air con! It had come back on, literally 3 minutes after we had left for Disney Springs - but it was nice and cool when we can back, so didn't mind too much! We then quickly set about charging everything again, and went to bed.

If you know the band in that last picture, please let me know as they were amazing, and I'd like to see what other songs they have. Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
