Universal Studios Florida Bucket List: Updated

Universal Studios Orlando, is another one of my fave places on this planet (second to Disney!). The thought of being there makes me immensely happy, but being there is a whole different thing. The screams of being on The Mummy, watching the James Bourne Stunt Show, watching Marilyn Munroe perform in the streets - it's just amazing.

In 2017 before I went to Florida for the first time in a while, I made this bucket list of what I wanted to do. Since then, I've been three times, so here is what I have and haven't yet done off the list!

  1. Meet the Marvel characters ✔️
    • This is a yes and no - we met Spider Man in a store, but haven't yet seen mat any other characters from Marvel!
  2. Ride the Hulk Coaster ✔️
  3. Go on the King Kong: Skull Island ride ✔️
  4. Watch the 8th Voyage of Sinbad show ✔️
  5. Visit Hogsmeade ✔️
  6. Visit Diagon Alley ✔️
  7. Try Butterbeer again
    • Ended up remembering I didn't like it during a brief visit in 2013, so don't want to try it again!
  8. Have a picture in front of the big 'globe' ✔️
  9. Go to Volcano Bay
    • We're not huge on waterparks, so this is currently off the list!
  10. Meet the Minions
    • I saw them in the parade if that counts!?!?
  11. Go on Jurassic Park River Adventure ✔️
  12. Brave going on Rip Ride Rock It! ✔️
  13. Try Duffbeer
    • Soooo I no longer drink at all, so this is off the list!
  14. Buy a wand in Ollivander's
    • The queues for this are ridiculously long, and also my love for Harry Potter has dwindled a little over the last decade, so this isn't something I feel a need to do anymore.
  15. See the Blue Man group
    • We thought about going. Hurricane Irma hit. We forgot about it. By 2019 the show had pretty much stopped.
  16. Watch one of the daily parades ✔️
  17. Watch the Blue's Brothers ✔️
  18. Meet a Raptor
    • Honestly, forgot all about this one, so maybe next time!!
  19. Go on Dr Doom's Fearfall ✔️
  20. Race through New York with Jimmy Fallon! ✔️

Is there anything I've missed from the list that you think I might want to do? Please let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Disney World Bucket List: Updated

Disney World Orlando, is one of my fave places on this planet. The thought of being there makes me immensely happy, but being there is a whole thing. The smells of Main Street, the sound of Stormtroopers marching through Black Spire Outpost, the rides, the sites-  it's just magical to me.

In 2017 before I went to Florida for the first time in a while, I made this bucket list of what I wanted to do. Since then, I've been three times, so here is what I have and haven't yet done off the list!

  1. Have a dole whip ✔️
  2. Try a big Mickey Mouse rice crispy treat ❌
    • So turns out I can't do this one due to my food allergy restrictions, so this is just going to have to remain a dream.
  3. Ride Big Thunder Mountain ✔️
  4. Meet Mulan ❌
    • EVERY TIME I went to Epcot to see her, her meet and greet had either just finished, she wasn't appearing that day, or it was HOURS away. So this is still on my list for the next time.
  5. Meet Rapunzel ✔️
  6. Meet Merida ❌
    • Honestly, haven't tried to see her properly yet, so will try next time!
  7. Ride Spaceship Earth ✔️
  8. Explore Pandora ✔️
  9. Brave Summit Plummet! ❌
    • This also coming off my list. We don't really do the waterparks as they don't interest us, as it's no longer something I want to do!
  10. Meet Mickey & Minnie ✔️
  11. See the 'Kiss Goodnight' at Magic Kingdom ❌
    • We came close in 2017, but it had been such a long day we were heading out the park as soon as the fireworks finished.
  12. Watch Fantasmic ✔️
  13. Go on the Carousel of Progress ✔️
  14. Go in all the new shops at Disney Springs✔️
  15. Trade with a Jawa ❌
    • This never seems to be happening when I go, but I might just be missing it!
  16. Meet Star-Lord & Baby Groot ✔️
  17. Play mini golf ✔️
  18. Watch the new 'Happily Ever After' show ✔️
  19. Watch the 'Rivers of Light' show ❌
    • Pretty sure this stopped years ago now!
  20. Try out Sprinkles at Disney Springs ❌
    • Once again, scuppered by my allergies!!
Is there anything I've missed from the list that you think I might want to do? Please let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Travelling Tips For People With Anxiety

Travelling can be an exciting and enriching experience, but it can also trigger feelings of anxiety in some individuals. The thought of navigating new environments, dealing with unexpected events, and facing different cultural norms can be overwhelming, especially for those with anxiety. However, with proper planning and preparation, you can reduce stress and enjoy your trip to the fullest. Here are some practical tips for managing anxiety while travelling:

Plan ahead
Preparation is key when it comes to reducing anxiety while travelling. Plan your itinerary, research your destination, and make sure you have everything you need for a smooth trip. Having a clear plan and knowing what to expect can help you feel more in control and less overwhelmed.

Pack essentials
Make sure you bring items that will help you feel comfortable and secure, such as your medication, a favorite blanket, or a comfort toy. Additionally, pack earplugs and an eye mask to help you sleep on long flights or in unfamiliar surroundings.

Stay connected
Stay connected with friends and family back home, and ensure you have a way to communicate in an emergency. This can provide you with a sense of comfort and security, especially if you are travelling to a new place.

Stay active
Regular exercise and physical activity can help reduce anxiety and improve mood. Make time for walks, yoga, or other physical activities while on the trip.

Manage your exposure to stress
Avoid exposing yourself to situations that you know will trigger your anxiety. For example, if you have a fear of flying, try to book a direct flight and choose an aisle seat to minimize your exposure to turbulence.

Take breaks
Travelling can be tiring, especially if you are dealing with anxiety. Make sure to take regular breaks and give yourself time to relax and recharge.

Seek support
If your anxiety is severe, it may be helpful to seek support from a mental health professional before your trip. They can provide you with strategies to manage anxiety while travelling and offer support throughout your trip.

In conclusion, travelling with anxiety can be a challenge, but proper planning and preparation can reduce stress and enjoy your trip. Remember to take care of yourself, stay connected with loved ones, and seek support when needed. With these tips, you can travel with confidence and make memories that will last a lifetime.

What are your tips for traveling when you're feeling anxious? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Holiday Destinations Wanderlust List

Ever since Florida last year, I've got the bug for holidays. I've been on one holiday in the last 4 years, so the need is high! It's getting colder now, so I'm sat spending my days, dreaming about warmer climates, pools, and getting a tan. I've been to some of the below locations, and others are on the list to visit.

Florida

Disney world is here. Need I say more? I've been to Orlando Florida three times in my life. In 2001 when I was 9, and 2013 when I was 20 - and then last year for my 25th birthday. Disney and Universal are perfect for someone who likes roller coasters and theme parks in general. The heat isn't something I am a huge fan of, but I loved being there. Planning to go again in 2019 if I can get the time away from work.

Cornwall

This is actually the local beach where we go to! I've been to Cornwall every year since I was 11 months old to the same campsite, where we stay in one of the caravans there. It's the same thing every year, but I love being surrounded by the beach, fields and the little villages there. I've not been since 2015, so I am desperate to head back. Definitely one of my fave places on Earth.

France

I haven't been to France since I was 12 years old, but would love to go back. I would love to go to Paris, and then the south of France to some of the lesser-known tourist spots. I've been learning a little French over the last year - though not enough to be any good, it's a start at least! The above is from 2004, one a school trip where we went to a Zoo near Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Los Angeles
Other than shopping and the possible celeb spot, I'm not sure why this place is so appealing to me. It's a huge city and that would scare me to death with the crowds. But it looks so nice from pictures. TV and vlogs I've seen! I think the area would be really amazing to explore, and there are quite a lot of tourist attractions - plus it's not too far from DisneyLand in Ahaheim for a day trip.

New Zealand
I desperately need to go here! I want to see Hobbiton, and everywhere else in NZ that the LOTR and the Hobbit movies were filmed. The landscape looks breath taking and it would be so nice to go somewhere that is a long way from home. My Mum is going to NZ sometime in the next few years, and won't let me sneak into her suitcase!

What places would you like to visit for the first time, or venture back to? Let me know, as I'd love to hear your destinations! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
