52 Weeks Saving: Weeks 6-15 | Bullet Journal

One of my goals of the year, was to be a bit better with my money by spending less and saving more. In my previous 52 Weeks Saving Plan, I explained how the savings idea worked and how I was going to approach it.

So instead of the usual method, I'm going to save a random amount each week, so I can then knock some of the larger amounts out of the way now, and work down to the lower amounts through the year. I've been working backwards more than randomly, as this has worked better for me right now, due to not having any large expenditures until the summer.

I also mentioned using stickers from The Sticker Party's store on etsy! I know these are in dollars, but it's the same amounts, so ignore that! I love using stickers, and thought I could put each denomination into my bullet journal as each week goes so I can keep track of which amounts have been done.

My last post about this was back in January during week 5, where I had £210 at that time. So now we're onto week 15 and I've actually managed to keep this up so far! I've worked backwards and put away the larger numbers like I wanted, so I've built up a nice little sum straight off the bat. I've put away money each week instead of spending it on clothes, beauty. shoes, etc - as I didn't need them!

I'm still not sure what I'm going to spend my money on, but seeing as my current laptop keeps crashing, the money might be going towards that!

Week 15 Total: £578
Amount To Go: £800
Weeks Left: 39

Have you tried the 52 weeks saving challenge before? How far did you get, and how did you find it? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Bullet Journal | Monthly & Weekly Layouts

Last month I showed you the inside of my Bullet Journal, and also how I'm doing the 52 Week Saving Challenge with my journal! Now I wanted to show you a little more of my journal, and how I layout my month and weeks to keep on track with things.

Within each month, I have a list calendar of the month to keep track of my work shifts, pay day, birthdays, and any other important events, goals, spending and habits trackers, and a gratitude log.

I've started doing my layout like the above, since December! I like to have a little area for any personal goals or events I have lined up, and then a section for my blog. I like to keep track of my social media stats, so I have a set of montly goals/milestones I'd like to try and achieve each month - which motivates me to work harder.

The blog post tracker is so I can scribble ideas down in pencil and then change it to a colourful pen when I've got it all scheduled - just so I can try and not miss any days!

This tracker is still a work in progress. I'm super happy with the layout and colour schemes... BUT, I have issues with the green and blue columns. I need to find a way to squeeze in another column for my comic books, as that always fills the blue bar up and then I have to add to the side (as you can see!) and I don't like that!

My beauty and fashion bars rarely fill up, so I might start to combine them and use the other three bars for the other things I need! Hopefully can trial a new version for March...

I saw this idea on Pinterest, and fell in love with it. It's sometimes hard for me to find something good in each day, so this has made me focus on that a little more. Even if it's something as small as finding an old song, or spending the day watching movies: it's all something to to look back on!

My final trackers of the month, are this habit tracker, a mini 'home' tracker, and a film tracker. The habits tracker is a good way to track takeouts, workouts and my no spend days - among other things! I like my film tracker, so I can see which films I've watched that month! I'm trying not to watch many doubles this year, so I can go through my whole collection.

My mini tracker is always a bit crap. I always forget to fill this in, so might stop doing this in future months, unless I can figure out a way to make it more memorable.

Next are my weekly layouts, which as much as I like - I never seem to have a theme for them.

I'm always changing the fonts for the days, but I need to find a way to make it all a bit prettier.I use stickers from various Etsy stores to track what days I;m at work or not, plus other stickers for decoration. I do a colour scheme for each week, normally red/orange, pink/purple or blues. No reason as to why, but I just like to to be a little bit colourful each week.

I then use the key to track what needs to be done each day, along with any events or things that have happened that day that I think are worth noting.

So there we have it! That's how my bullet journal is laid out for each month and week. I'm happy with 90% of it, but I still want to change it up so it's better adapted to how I need things to be as of right now. And that's the beauty of a bujo - you can change it as often as you want!

How do you set up your bujo for each month and week? Let me know and share any posts about yous as I love to peek at other people's! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

52 Weeks Saving: Weeks 1-5 | Bullet Journal

One of my goals of the year, was to be a bit better with my money by spending less and saving more.

If you've heard of the 52 Week Saving Challenge before, then you might have even tried this yourself! If you're unfamialir, the idea is that each week you save an amount that corresponds to the week of the year. So the 5th week you'd save £5, week 26 you save £26 and so on, until you have £1378 by the end of the year.

I had tried this last year, and got to about 11 weeks before I gave in as I done it all wrong in how I approached it.

The main way is to do it as above, but I know that come December, saving £49-£52 over the last 4 weeks of the year (and at Christmas), would be too hard. So instead, I'm going to save a random amount each week, so I can then knock some of the larger amounts out of the way now, and work down to the lower amounts through the year.

So that's what my plan is anyway!

I also wanted to give myself some encouragement in the form of stickers - which are from The Sticker Party's store on etsy! I know these are in dollars, but it's the same amounts, so ignore that! I love using stickers, and thought I could put each denomination into my bullet journal as each week goes so I can keep track of which amounts have been done.

As you can see, I've actually done 5 weeks straight from the off, even though this is only the 4th week of the year! I just wanted to go a little further ahead so I could try and finish this a week earlier!

I've gone straight in and done the four highest amounts, and then chucked a random low one in, just to bump up the current total a little bit more. I'm planning on putting each amount away into a saving account each Friday, so will do a check in post on the totals as I go, throughout the year ahead.

I'll even do a little tracker below of the total and how much is left, in case anyone is interested!

Week 5 Total: £210
Amount To Go: £1168

At the moment, I've not got any immediate plans for the money, but after Florida this year, I have a feeling this savings pot will come in handy!

Have you tried the 52 weeks saving challenge before? How far did you get, and how did you find it? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

My 2017 Bullet Journal

Last April, I decided to start a bullet journal. I've not exactly gone into detail about it or showed it much here on my blog, but I stuck at it all year. I shared a lot of it on my Instagram, along with some pages from my new one.

A Bullet Journal is a cross between a planner, journal and diary - and as you design the pages, it's totally tailored to you. The main components are a:

  • key page of any icons and colours you'll use through the book
  • an index - list the page numbers and what's on them so you can easily flick to it
  • a future log - a bit like a year at a glance so you can see what is going on each month
  • collection pages - each page is a topic/module, called a collection, that you would then have in the index. This can be something like 'workout plan' 'comic book tracker' 'monthly gratitude' and so on.
  • montly log - a little page at a glance view of the month ahead to log any important dates or events
  • daily log/rapid log - each day you write the day and date and then list underneath what you need to do that day by using the icons from your key

For a better idea, check out the bullet journal website!

I used the Leuchtturm 1917 Journal with dotted pages, in the shade called Berry for my first one. I used all of the main components and thankfully, the 1917 comes with pages numbers already, so it's one less thing to worry about! I also done a monthly layout including my goals and blog goals, and each daily log was turned into a week log over two pages so it was like a little diary.

I use a lot of colourful pens for my journal, as well as a crap ton of stickers and washi tape so I can decorate it! But you can use a plain black biro and not decorate it at all if you're not fussy on how it looks. I finished my Berry planner in December, so I bought a new one in Purple for 2017! So far it's going pretty well, and below are some of my pages and layout that you can always try for yourself!

Buckle up folks, this is going to be a lot of pictures...

The above pages are the ones that pretty much everyone will have, in some form or another! The 2017 diary layout is new for this journal as I didn't do it last time. I thought it would be a good idea to have birthdays and holiday dates all in one place so I could see it a bit easier, rather than in the future log.

This emotions tracker was pretty popular on my instagram from my last journal! In my new one, I've updated the colours so it's a bit easier to discern each emotion - plus I added in a tracker for the green days, so I can see what any issues are that I can try focusing and working on.

I'll be doing a post about the financial planning and future savings plan pages on Friday, so keep an eye out for that!

So that's my bullet journal so far!! I put all of these at the front of my journal as I knew I'd want to use them a lot, as most of these are 'trackers' and need to be updated regularly.

Updated 13/3/17: If you want to see a flip through of my journal, check out the video below!

I'll do another post soon with my monthly layout and my daily layout, otherwise this is going to be a stupidly long post...

Have you got a bujo yourself, and if you, please let me see what it's like as I love looking at them! What's the best page I've done so far? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

The Sticker Party Haul

I came across Erica's awesome Etsy store The Sticker Party, 'Formerly - AbundanceOfErica' via an Instagram pic from Louise - and had to check it out! I love bullet journalling, and stickers just make everything look better to me.

Yep, I'm a 10 year old sticker fanatic at heart.

I bought a lot of the stickers for my bullet journal needs, and had to wait about a week for them to arrive from Canada, and oh my - they are so good.

The quality of these are amazing. They're nice and glossy, pre-cut on the sheet and high resolution. All of these stickers came to £33 - including some others which I'm still waiting on right now, but not that bad price for so many!

I'm using a majority of these for my Florida Holiday planning, and the rest are going to get used as and when!

Don't forget to check out Erica's store here, and look out for any discount codes that she shares on her Instagram page, where she also shares her latest products and discount codes!

Do you enjoy bullet journalling with stickers, or do you use something else to decorate? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

PS. Anyone know how to get rid of the weird alien/globe watermarks on these images? They're all edited by me in photoshop and then when uploaded, they seem to have the stamp on them? Any help is appreciated!!
