10 Things I Love About Autumn

22nd of September hailed the arrival of Autumn, and honestly, it was freaking March like 3 seconds ago, and we were in a heatwave. Where has 2020 gone? The weather has taken a dramatic drop, going from 27°c on a Monday, to a blustery and rainy 11°c on Wednesday morning. My skin has not adjusted well to this at all!

Autumn has been my favourite season for as long as I can remember, so here are 10 things/reasons why I love this season so much!
  1. Colder weather
    • Jumpers, cardigans, snuggly pyjamas - they are all back in season!
  2. Autumnal colours
    • Reds, oranges, golds. Everywhere looks like it's about to feature a Hallmark movie for the season
  3. Heating is back on!
    • The house feels cosy, and you just don't want to go out
  4. Christmas is around the corner
    • Yes, the dreaded C word! I'm a good third of the way through my shopping as of when I am typing this up!
  5. Bonfire Night
    • Warm fires, and hopefully some socially distancing fireworks displays might be on
  6. TV Shows
    • Although some shows are delayed until winter 2021, a few TV shows are returning this Autumn, and I am excited for some new things to watch!
  7. Fluffy socks
    • Need I say more?
  8. New seasonal products at work
    • With each changing season, we have new products on my deli counter, and last year we had a cheese with dark chocolate in it (it was called Black Cat, and was disgusting, but sold surprisingly well!) I'm excited to see what we get this year
  9. Friends and family meet ups
    • Obviously observing the current virus guidelines in the UK, I'm hoping to be able to see some of my family who I haven't seen since February, and some friends who I haven't seen for quite a while either.
  10. Staying Home
    • I am a home girl. I like to stay home, do nothing and be left in peace. Nothing makes me happier! My quarantine life was pretty much my usual lifestyle anyway, so that didn't affect me too much! This colder weather means more time snuggled up in my bed with some seasonal movies on!

What are your favourite things to do in the autumn season? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

  1. There are always so many good TV shows and films released around this time of year! I'm currently enjoying Little Voice and Emily in Paris is on my list! I also love autumnal colours and being able to snuggle up at home!

  2. Autumn is my favourite season!! I look forward to all of these things except Bonfire Night. My dog is terrified so as pretty as they are, seeing him so scared kind of ruins it for me x

  3. Thanks for sharing, I find this time of year not my favourite as I'm not keen on the cold weather, but crisp walks are always good :)

  5. Aww this post made me smile! I love all the things you mentioned too Tania. This time of year always makes me think of Hallmark movies and curling up and being cosy inside. I've decorated a little for Halloween but I really can't wait to put my Christmas tree up! :) I love being cosy and snug in my house when it's dark outside! :) Lucy xx
