Monthly Favourites #2 - May

Hello everyone!

I'm going to try and do a monthly faves each month from now on, as there is so much that I love each month and just need to share! I'm going to try and keep away from beauty things and do the little categories I've chosen below!!

I have been addicted to Taylor Swift's song 'Shake It Off' ever since it was released, so when the Hillywood Show done a parody of Supernatural with that song, I had to listen to it. On repeat. For four days solid. I'm a huge Supernatural fan, so this song has taken over for the month!

My favourite picture from this month has to be this funny one of me and my person Nicola, while we had our Lakeside shopping spree day! We'd just stopped for some food during the afternoon when I took this!

TV Show
Game of Thrones has kicked back off for season 5, and IT'S SO GOOD AS USUAL. I'm roughly at the same part in the books, maybe 200 pages behind, so I'm reading as fast as I can!! Totally love this tv show, and I'm excited to see what happens to Arya...

I've been watching a load of films with Cameron this month as usual. We're working on the last Fast & the Furious, and Star Wars, but the crowing film of the month has to be White Chicks. We've spent most of the month in tears of laughter over the film and have been quoting it non-stop.

Random Section
So I'm choosing my nails this month! I've not really done my nails much this month, but this was how I had them when I went to Lakeside with Nicola and I really liked them. I used a grey colour on all my nails, except the ring finger - which had a metallic silver on it instead. Pretty plain and simple, but I love it!

Hope you enjoyed these faves for May! What have you loved this month from each category? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe!

Nails of the week: French Manicure

Hello everyone!

I've been after some new nail polishes so I can do the classic French Manicure look on them. My old set is about 4 years old and is no longer of any use or quality, so an investment was in need! I finished work last night and thought I would see what Collection 2000 had on offer.

Each bottle was on offer at £2.50, so came to £7.50 in total for the three, which I am mega pleased about. I bought the French Tip, Pink Base Coat and the Top Coat.

I tried this without nail guides, so this was really a trial and error method, by just eyeballing the white tips on! The white tips needed two coats so it was a lot clearer. One coat was fine as it is quite pigmented, but I like to do two just to make it bolder. The lines are a little wobbly, but like I said above, first time without the guides!!

Once this dried I then applied two coats of the pink polish. I know it says this can be a base coat, but I've always done the tips first so the pink can dull it down a little! Don't want it to look like I have Tipex on my nails!

I was watching a film as I was doing this, so I know it took about 15 minutes for it to be completely dry and not tacky any more. Lastly, was the top coat which sealed the design in and added a nice shine to it. My right hand looks a little more messy as it was done with the left hand, but it seems to have worked out okay!

Have you tried these polishes before? Did you like them as much as I do? Let me know!! Hope you're having a great day, and keep safe :)
