Monthly Faves | October 2021

The month is slowly coming to a close, which to me, means the end of spooky season, and the start of Christmas panic and fun! If you read my wishlist post from a few days ago, then you'll know I'm pretty much ready for Christmas to be here now, and not in another month an a bit. However, as the month is now drawing to an end, I wanted to share my faves from October with you all!

Film

I've only watched a few films this month. As Halloween was coming up, we all sat down to watch Hocus Pocus together one night. Tash and Mosh had never seen it, so Dad and I were excited to show it to them. I still laugh my head off when the witches come out the burn chamber and Winnie is talking in French about the book. It kills me every time.

TV

I have absolutely LOVED the new (and currently airing) season of 9-1-1 on Fox so far. We maybe only a few episodes in, but we've had a city ransom attack, a kidnapping, a zoo break, and a whole host of other things. Plus the Maddie and Chimney storyline has been so beautifully done. I won't delve into details as I don't want to spoil anything - but it's been a great season thus far.

Song

This was tricky as I've listened to a lot this month - and some Christmas ones too... But, the one I have listened to the most is probably Pump It by the Black Eyed Peas. I've had a lot of 5am starts, and 9pm finishes at work in the last few weeks, and I can say that this song on super loud WILL KEEP ME AWAKE. It's great to dance along to on the way home from a 9 hour shift, or at 4:30am just to wake me up a bit more before I start my shift!

Product

I fell down The Home Edit rabbit hole at the end of September, and it fully took over this month. I have bought MANY containers from different places. The edit stage was my favourite as I purged so much from my room and the kitchen. I felt great afterwards. I found these drawer storage containers on amazon a few weeks ago, and I've used all of them except one of the tiny square ones, as I'm not sure what to use it for just yet!

What have you loved this month, and would would be your choice for each above category? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

December 2018 Faves

What a year and month it has been! Work has been manic all month with people food shopping for the big day! I've caught up with a bunch of friends over the month, and have been well and truly spoiled with presents. Not a bad year overall, but I know 2019 will be a lot better.

Anyway, hope you're all well, and here are my monthly faves!

Song
I am so obsessed with this song right now. Lots of 90's references, and the song is just contagious to listen to. I've had it on repeat in my car for weeks now, and cannot stop myself dancing to it in the traffic!

TV Show
It's been hard to mention a show I've not already said so far this year, but The Flash is one I've really enjoyed watching this month - plus how amazing was that Elseworlds crossover?? I am a huge fan of this show, mainly due to Cisco and Kaitlyn.

Film
I have almost made it to the end of my Marvel marathon, so I have to mention this amazing film once more. Taika Waititi is a freaking genius with this movie. It's so funny in a number of places. The music is one of my fave of the MCU films so far, and the casting - amazing. Plus, these posters of all the cast are so beautiful.

Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of my three fave Disney Princesses, on my Christmas tree! I bought these about 3 or so years ago, and have hung them on the tree each year for my little touch of Disney!

How has your December, and the end of the year been, and what are your faves from the categories above? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

November 2018 Faves

Another month gone, and we're getting even closer to the end of the year, as well as Christmas coming at us quickly. Save a thought for those of us who work in retail and have been listening to festive music for the last 2 weeks, and already hate every Christmas song going! No, Elton John, I do not want to step into Christmas with you!!

Anyway, hope you're all well, and here are my monthly faves!

Song
I am obsessed with this song! I've listened to it 61 times on the day that I wrote this post up - had it on repeat without noticing for the first 20 odd plays and then just left it on! I'm pretty sure I have the lyrics down now. I love this video for it too, as it's filled with 90's nostalgia.

TV Show
It is the season of the returning shows, and it's been grand so far! I only started watching this show a month ago, but already addicted and caught up with season 2! 9-1-1 is such a good show, and I love the cast. I started watching it because Angela Bassett was starring in it, but then got to see the other cast, and can safely say I'm in love with Oliver Stark now too, haha!

Film
I have been working my way through some movie sets this month, and watched all the Jurassic Park and World films, just before the new one was released on DVD. I've watched that for the second time, and loved it just as much as the first time. I like that we've got away from the islands at last, and now have dinos in the wild, plus a human clone!

Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of a visit to Folkestone during the month. My sister, her boyfriend, and I were all super ill when we went with my Dad, but fresh air helps right? Nope! Took this by the harbour, before we headed on a long walk into the town. It was nice to get out of the house and not be working, so enjoyed myself a lot.

How has your November been, and what are your faves from the categories above? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

October 2018 Faves

Another month gone, and we're getting even closer to winter and the big C word, that all us retail workers dread each year! Had one of those limbo months, where I was all over the place, but now it's ending, I'm hoping November is a lot better. Comic Con has been and gone again, so now just focusing on saving up for another trip to Florida!

Anyway, hope you're all well, and here are my monthly faves!

Song
I am still on my country music high, so this is no surprise. A relatively new girl group, Runaway June have become a slight obsession of mine. I love their whole EP, and cannot wait until they release more, but until then, you'll find me listening to this on repeat for the next few months!

TV Show
It is the season of the returning shows, and it's been grand so far! We've already had the amazing crossover with the One Chicago shows, new Big Bang theory, and How to get Away With Murder is also back, among others. But Station 19's premier episode had me hooked from the minute it started. It carried on from the massive cliffhanger at the end of season one, and we finally got to see the fates of the team.

Film
I had a Saturday off this month, so decided to binge all three of the Expendables movies. I love all of them, as I am big lover off action films - but the first one is just the best by a long shot. The whole plot is great, and the cast is one of the best for the job!

Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of me getting to meet Harley Quinn artist, Amanda Conner, at MCM Comic Con this past weekend. I also met Jimmy Palmiotti on the Friday, and he also signed my comic! She was super lovely, and really chatty! I now have a very special #25 issue with their autographs, which I'll treasure for my life!

September 2018 Faves

I've turned 26 this month, booked the next Disney World holiday, and spent way too much money! Hopefully October is just as good. I don't feel like I've done a lot - mainly been working as usual. I have another week off near the end of this month, so fingers crossed I get up to something fun.

Anyway, hope you're all well, and here are my monthly faves!

Song
I mentioned during the week, about how much I love FGL in a blog post, so this stands as no surprise as a favourite for the month. I honestly could just list all of their songs, but this one has stood out as my fave for the month - even though it's 2 years old!

TV Show
I've been in the mood to re-watch this for month now, so during my last week off, I decided to watch all of the Glee Project to start with, and then have launched into the original show's season one. I'd forgot so much of what had happened, and I really wanted to watch it again for the second time.

Film
I haven't seen many films this month, but I'm mid-way through my Marvel marathon - it's taking a while though! Just got to Civil War, and it's just made me get excited to see Infinity War again, as my dvd arrived during the month. I love this film so much, and it's one of my faves of the franchise.

Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of my fancy key rings! I support two NFL teams, and I've been really getting into this season so far, and I've been buying merch for both my teams, like it's going out of fashion!

How has your September been, and what are your faves from the categories above? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

August 2018 Faves

Oh man. That heatwave went on for about 1000 years, and now it's become the Ice Age with downpours. Good ole England! It's payday today, so I'm getting some essentials before my late shift, and then tomorrow I am treating myself to a Subway and some shopping - on the count it doesn't decided to rain down a monsoon on me.

Anyway, hope you're all well, and here are my monthly faves!

Song
I really don't know how I didn't hear Troye's song sooner, but this is a bloody brilliant song, which I blare, en route to works on the early shifts! This video is amazing too and made me buy Troye's new album Bloom.

TV Show
I am finally catching up on my TV show 'to watch' list, and I finally got around to watching Marlon. Season 2 came to Netflix on August 22nd and I binged it over the weekend! it made me laugh out loud, and I'm going to be re-watching it soon.

Film
I haven't seen many films this month, but I'm mid-way through my Marvel marathon - it's taking a while though! Just got to Ant-Man, so I can re-watch that before I go and see Ant-Man and The Wasp... as I've still not seen the new one! Paul Rudd makes me laugh so much, so it was nice to see him do some of this seriously!

Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of me! Yes, I know - so vain, haha! I've not worn anything but shorts for MONTHS due to the heatwave, so this was the first time I was covered up in ages! This was for a little town trip with the family, so was feeling pretty happy with myself.

July 2018 Faves

My gawd, this heatwave has kicked my ass this month. I haven't been this hot since Florida - and at least they had air conditioning! I've had the past week off work, and it really wasn't enough time to switch off. I've had to do so many errands, Dr appointments, fix car issues... I don't feel like I had a day to relax at all - I need a second one to be fully sorted. Sadly got to wait until September now!

Anyway, hope you're all well, and here are my monthly faves!

Song
This has to be my fave song from the newly released Mamma Mia 2 movie. I love the song, the lyrics, and the whole scene that this song featured in.

TV Show
I am finally catching up on my TV shows and this one has been on my 'to watch' list since it started back in March. As it was back on, I thought I'd re-watch it all - IT WAS AMAZING. Station 19 is a spin-off from the Grey's Anatomy franchise, and takes former Dr Ben Warren to the station as the rookie. It's only 10 episodes, but I already cannot wait for the second season in October!

Film
I have seen three films in the last month. Jurassic World 2, Incredibles 2, and Mamma Mia 2. Yep, all sequels! It was really hard to pick a fave, as I loved them all so much. But I've had to go with Mamma Mia 2. I both laughed, cried, and bawled my eyes out at the cinema watching this. It was a beautiful film, and the last scene had me crying like a baby. But, the songs were amazing, and I adored the younger versions of the cast.

Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of mt Grandad. I hadn't seen him since the start of the year, so now it was warmer, he was able to come and see us one Sunday. It was so nice to see him, and we all had a good laugh about some memories of days past. Was so happy I got to see him!

June 2018 Faves

Oh what a month it's been. I've had a lot of time at work this month, plus a sick day off due to my paralysis kicking in, which was a hoot, I'll tell you! It's been gloriously hot and sunny for the best part, and also had a thunderstorm back at the start. I've seen an old school friend a lot these last few weeks, which has been really nice!

I've sort of got back into the blog a bit more now, but I'm still not at my full mojo for it, so I'm doing my best to keep at it and see if I can get the full love for my little baby back. It's weird not blogging when I enjoy it so much, but it's also feeling like a chore a little bit. Does anyone else get like that?

Anyway, hope you're all well, and here are my monthly faves!

Song
This is a song is still pretty new for once - yay! I love Florida Georgia Line's music, and this new one is another fave of theirs. I love the lyrics and then meaning behind it, so can't wait for their new album now!

News Story
'JK Rowling Sent A Box Of Harry Potter Presents To School Children In Northern India'
I love nothing more than a good story of a celeb helping the less fortunate in the world, and JK Rowling has done it again. 12 year old, Kulsum Bano Batt, wrote an essay about how inspiring she found the author, and Rowling then sent them a load of goodies, books, and signed memorabilia - for the girl and her school.

    TV Show
I am finally catching up on my TV shows and this one has been a fave for the last few years, but the ending of the latest season broke my heart. No worries, I'm not going to spoil it! I've actually re-watched the last 5 seasons over the past month or so, and it reminded me of why I loved the show. Plus I have a HUGE crush of Kevin Atwater, so that's a plus...

    Film
I have been re-watching the Marvel movies this month - so far I've got to Iron Man 2, so not massively far but..! I forgot how much I loved the OG of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this has made it to the top of my list this month!

    Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of some cupcakes that I made! It's actually from the end of last month, but as I skipped the faves in May, it's made it to June's list! These are the first ones I've made in about 3 years, and they were so yummy!

Hope you enjoy this new format of my monthly faves - please let me know what you think as I'd love to hear your opinions! How has your June been, and what are your faves from the categories above? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

    March 2018 Faves

Hey lovely readers! It's Good Friday right now, so hope you're all ready for all the chocolate on Easter! I've already had my 'Easter' a week ago, which is known as Ostara/Eostre among Wiccans. I'm still having some chocolate with the family on Sunday, but until then, I've got 2 shifts to get out of the way.

Along with my usual fave songs, tv shows, movies, and monthly picture - I want to share a blogger I'm loving right now, plus a news story that's made me smile! I think there's a lot of bad things happening on this planet right now, so wanted to share some of the good I've found. Hope you all have a great April and Easter!

    Song
This is a song I only discovered about 8 days ago, but LOVE it. Been a Todrick fan since his 'Splits on trees' days, so this one is a JAM. I've been so excited for the new album as the OZ one, was amazing. Love this!

    News Story
'Our love began in a Burmese war camp, and led us all the way to Strictly Come Dancing'
Madge and Basil met in a makeshift hospital in the Burmese jungle in 1944, where Madge was a 20-year-old nurse. 5 months into volunteering, she met Basil, who later sent her a note to ask her on a date. They married in 1947, and now have two grown up daughters. The team at Strictly wanted to reenact our love story on their Remembrance Day special, and they both said yes!

      TV Show
I am finally catching up on my TV shows and this one has been amazing this series. And YAY, no-one died in the series finale. They've left it on a bit of a cliffhanger with this 'mysterious' new kid at the college, and I want to know who's kid he is already!

      Film
I finally got round to seeing this near the start of the month, and it was INCREDIBLE. Shuri is my fave person in the whole film, she was so funny - plus she's ridiculously smart. I loved the entire film, and the fact the army was all female! Can't wait to see more of them all in Infinity War.

      Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of all the Harry Potter bags in Primark. Primark are doing really well with their Harry Potter and Disney merch right now, and yes - that is a Golden Snitch backpack! My sister and I have the brown and black satchels, but I'm tempted to get more of them...

      Blogger

Check out her blog, or her twitter and instagram
I found Aimee's blog about two years ago while searching for some new bloggers on twiter! She's a lovely blogger, who also has some really great content on her blog, such as her Official Wedding Pictures, and the more recent Spring Cleaning!

Hope you enjoy this new format of my monthly faves - please let me know what you think as I'd love to hear your opinions! How has your March been, and what are your faves from the categories above? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
