Lazy Day Activities

I love nothing more than a lazy day to myself. A day where I don't have to leave the house at all, and can just be comfy in my pyjamas and do almost nothing. Except the things below! I like to just sit in bed, or at my desk and do mundane things to keep my occupied, while also having a good relax.

Blog Networking
I take some time to do 'networking'. This ranges from reading blogs, commenting on post, tweeting bloggers, retweeting their blog posts, etc. I love to do this to find new blogs, and then when the next lazy day comes around, I can binge-read all their latest posts and comment on them as I go.

Film/TV Show Binge
Pick a series or film set and get going! The last lazy day of mine, I watched all three of the Expendables movies, and then started on Now You See Me. Tempted to give the Twilight series another shot during next week!

Journalling
I usually do my journal the day after, so I can note down everything. I use an abundance of stickers to make it look pretty and get it organised. Sometimes this can take me 5-10 minutes, but it's a nice wind down, at the end of the day.

Gaming
I'm currently addicted to Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, Hogwarts Mystery, and Sims 4. I can usually spend hours on these to keep me busy - and I'll often play them while watching a film at the same time.

Sports Catch Up
Not for everyone, I know, but pick a sport you enjoy, or any championships. and catch up on the latest games. I spend my week watching a bunch of highlights from other NFL games that I didn't see over the weekend, and I can do this while also gaming or doing my journal.

What do you do during a lazy day to keep yourself entertained and busy? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

September 2018 Faves

I've turned 26 this month, booked the next Disney World holiday, and spent way too much money! Hopefully October is just as good. I don't feel like I've done a lot - mainly been working as usual. I have another week off near the end of this month, so fingers crossed I get up to something fun.

Anyway, hope you're all well, and here are my monthly faves!

Song
I mentioned during the week, about how much I love FGL in a blog post, so this stands as no surprise as a favourite for the month. I honestly could just list all of their songs, but this one has stood out as my fave for the month - even though it's 2 years old!

TV Show
I've been in the mood to re-watch this for month now, so during my last week off, I decided to watch all of the Glee Project to start with, and then have launched into the original show's season one. I'd forgot so much of what had happened, and I really wanted to watch it again for the second time.

Film
I haven't seen many films this month, but I'm mid-way through my Marvel marathon - it's taking a while though! Just got to Civil War, and it's just made me get excited to see Infinity War again, as my dvd arrived during the month. I love this film so much, and it's one of my faves of the franchise.

Picture
Fave picture of the month is this one of my fancy key rings! I support two NFL teams, and I've been really getting into this season so far, and I've been buying merch for both my teams, like it's going out of fashion!

How has your September been, and what are your faves from the categories above? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Getting Into American Football

Week three of the NFL has just ended, so we're now gearing up for week four! I've enjoyed American Football for a while now - predominately watching the Super Bowl for the last 5 years running - but last year I managed to catch a few of the normal season games as well.

We were in Florida when the 2017 season started, so I managed to catch a few of the games in the time we were there. This year, however, I've bitten the bullet and bought the NFL Game Pass. I wanted to actually be able to see all the games. I'm a former fan of the New England Patriots, but have been all about the Miami Dolphins since 2017.

I've got merch for both teams! I own tops, key rings and hats - but I want to get more through the year for paydays and Christmas - but only of the Dolphins as that is where my allegiance is right now!

Watching the game last year!

So what is American Football? Here's a few of the basics if you're new to the sport.

The Basics
  • 53 players per team - only 11 on field at any time; defence and offence teams
  • Game plays is 4 sets of 15 minutes quarters
  • Each team gets 3 time outs, per half game
  • 12 minute half time (usually a show for the crowd during this time)
  • If a tie happens, there is 12 minutes for sudden death to try for a winner
  • Scoring is done by getting the ball into the team's endzone,  or scoring field goals, safety points, and extra points
Downs
  • There are 4 downs (aka plays/attempts) to get 10 yards
  • Each down is called 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
  • 4th down can be attempted, or team can try for a field goal
  • Example:  3rd down and 4, means it's the third attempt, and there are 4 yards to go
  • Once the 10 yards is gained, it resets to 1st down
Scoring
  • Touchdown - 6 points ~ Catch in the endzone, or cross over into the endzone
  • Field Goal - 3 points ~ Usually done on 4th down
  • Extra - 1 or 2 points ~ Kick through up right posts for 1 point, OR, attempt a 2 point 'touchdown'. 2 points are harder to get, so teams usually go for the kick
  • Safety -  2 points - To the defence team, when the offence team is tackled with the ball in their own endzone

I'm still learning the rules and working out how it all works together, but I really enjoy it! I've spent the last few Sunday nights watching the games at 6pm, and being engrossed in it. This week, the Patriots are against the Dolphins, so both of my fave teams against each other! I know who I want to win, but I'm also, in a way, rooting for them both.

BUT, the Dolphins have been doing amazing this season so far, so I kind of hope it's them!

Do you like the NFL - if yes, which team is your favourite? Let me know! And if you know anything about the game that you think I'd like to know, please tell me as I want to learn more about it! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Country Love

I've always enjoyed country music, but lately its become an obsession of sorts. I love the songs, the lyrics, and the music videos are always amazing.

Lately, it's all been about Florida Georgia Line. I first heard of them back in 2013, not long after Cruise came out in 2012 - and then the remix version came out, and I knew I was hooked on them. I own all their albums, EPs, and other songs they have done with other artists. I love their songs!

As I've been really enjoyed them lately, I wanted to share a few of my fave songs of theirs with you!

Cruise (Remix) Ft. Nelly

Confession

Dirt

May We All ft Tim McGraw

Simple

Heatwave

What country songs do you like, and do you like FGL? Let me know! Sorry this didn't go up on Monday - got all my dates confused so it's delayed a bit! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
