Monthly Favourites #26 - June

Another month is over already! We're way over half of the year gone, but it feels like it was January not two seconds ago!! I've not had the most fabulous month, but I've still tried to find some good things about June to put a smile on my face! Let's hope July is a lot better!

Song
I've had a pretty tough June, and whenever I get into a bad state of mind, We The Kings music always manages to pull me out of my funk and cheer me up. This one isn't from any albums, but was released as part of the American Rag All Access performance, and was then released as a single. I've had this blaring in my car this month, and it's lifted my mood!

Picture
My favourite picture from this month is this one from a little BBQ we had the other weekend! I had alcohol for the first time in about 18 months, and ended up drunk and laying on the grass in the garden... I also have an epic sunburn down one half of my body as part of me was in the shade and other side wasn't!

TV Show
I finally caved in and decided to start the Marvel Netflix Original programmes this month... SOOOO glad that I did!! I really loved Daredevil - it's just so good. I didn't mind Jessica Jones, but I think it might take another season to get me more invested. I've just started on Luke Cage, and then I need to watch Iron fist - all before the Defenders gets released!
Daredevil is my fave one so far, and I've really enjoyed getting to learn more about the characters in the second season!

Movie
I adored this movie! This has been a fave for many years, but I finally bought the DVD's so I can watch them over and over! I still get scared to death by the Raptor that chases Ellie in the bunker and the ones that go after the kids. I've watched all three of the movies a dozen times this month while I've been tidying out my room - aka I got distracted by the Dinosaurs and never tided...

Hope you enjoyed these faves for June! What have you loved this month yourself, from each category? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe!

Mini Poundland Beauty Haul

And by mini, I mean three items...

The other day while having a little browse around town, I ended up in Poundland with my Dad and spotted the beauty stand. I've seen it there for a year or so now, but I'd never actually paid it any attention, as it's usually empty! Or things have been opened and smeared about for swatch tests...

This time wasn't much different, but there were a handful of items still untouched and in the right place on the display, so I picked up two beauty bits and a set of nail tools!

For £3, this is probably the cheapest haul I've done for a long time! I've already used the nail tools, and I love them! Plus with the fancy marble effect, they're super Insta and Pinterest for us budding bloggers!

The powder is really good quality, and I've used it a few times so far - it's something that I can buy again and again. I've yet to try the foundation, but when I do, I'll review it to see how well it holds up with my skin type and tone.

Have you tried any of the beauty items from Poundland before? If so, let me know what you thought of them and which ones I should try! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Most Underrated Disney Movie

There's a lot of movies that Disney have done that I don't feel are loved too much universally. It's not many, and it's mainly a few of the classics that slipped through the net over the years. So which Disney movie do I feel is the most underrated?

Basil the Great Mouse Detective.

This film was simultaneously the best and scariest film I watched when I was a kid. By the time I was 8, it was no longer scary to me, and it became a fave. I watched it so much with my sister that we drove Mum mad. Over and over, each day until the VHS tape started skipping little bits here and there.

It was released in 1986, so 6 years before I was even born! I have no idea when I first watched it, who showed it to me, or how old I was. But I remember watching it a lot before school back in the 90's, so I remember being about 4/5 years old when the obsession began.

I loved little Olivia, and her dad the toy maker. I was terrified by Ratigan and Fidget - the latter gave me nightmares for ages - but I still insisted on watching it repeatedly. It wasn't until I was a pre-teen that I realised it was loosely based on Sherlock Holmes, which just made me love it even more.

I recently bought it on DVD and have been reliving my childhood again!

What was your fave Disney movie as a child, and which Disney movie do you think is seriously underrated? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

5 Awesome Places To Eat In Cornwall

Cornwall is like my second home. I've been every year since I was 11 months old, bar 2 years. Sadly can't afford to go this year as well as the Florida trip, so I'm having to miss a third occasion!

Cornwall is a place that is always so calming to me. Lots of countryside, beaches, clean air and quaint little seaside towns. Along with all the lush countryside, there are a plethora of places to eat - and as someone who has ate in like 90% in Cornwall, I can say I've tried a lot!

These five places are ones myself and the family visit each time we go on holiday there, and I've yet to be disappointed in a single meal from any of these places.

Fort Inn, Newquay

Just around the far end of the high street, and on the way to Fistral Beach and the Headland Hotel, this pub/restaurant is perfect for lunch and dinner. It gets very busy, very quickly between 12 and 2 in the afternoon, so getting there a little early is wise!

They have a wide range of foods - my dad is a fan of their steak pies, and my sister loves their cheese sandwiches - and it's always a big portion, so you won't be hungry. Above is my fave meal at the Fort Inn... My trusty chicken and bacon caesar salad!

The White House, Truro

No, not where Trump resides... Above is another chicken and bacon caesar salad, which again, I have each time we go here. We usually eat here 2-3 times each holiday, as it's on the way home from a few locations so is easy to access. They have a lovely roast dinner buffets on Sundays, and there's a couple of large pool tables and fruit money machines to play on!

Golden Guinea, Looe

We've been eating here every year we've gone to Cornwall during our Looe visits. They have a good range of dinners on offer, but me and Dad religiously have their roast dinners as they're sooooooooo yummy! Above is a nice beef dinner, which is delicious and a nice serving of veggies when you've had nothing but junk food all holiday!

Slades House Country Inn, Wadebridge

This pub is a new fave from a few years ago! We drove past it one day and Dad made it his mission to go back for food one afternoon. We were not disappointed! The staff were super friendly, and the owner was having a chat with a load of the customers, which was a lovely touch to the atmosphere! The portions are massive here, and the burger and chips I had above, were only half consumed!

My Dad and Grandad both had super large cod and chips which took them nearly 30 minutes to polish off, so you could easily split some meals between two people.

King Arthur's Arms, Tintagel

Ahh the new fave! This is one we sadly can't go back to all that often as it's very out of the way for us to get to! Where we stay is a while away from Tintagel, and though there isn't a great deal to do there, this pub is honestly worth the trip. Tintagel is the supposed home area of King Arthur and Merlin, so there are a lot of visitors there each year, and the pub is named after the famous King!

There's free WIFI, which is always a bonus, and the food is amazing. I had this beauty of a Ploughmans salad when we went the first time, and it was the best dinner I had the whole holiday!

So those are my fave places to dine in Cornwall when on holiday! If you've been to Cornwall, let me know your fave places to go, as I'd love to try them out! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
