5 Awesome Places To Eat In Cornwall

Cornwall is like my second home. I've been every year since I was 11 months old, bar 2 years. Sadly can't afford to go this year as well as the Florida trip, so I'm having to miss a third occasion!

Cornwall is a place that is always so calming to me. Lots of countryside, beaches, clean air and quaint little seaside towns. Along with all the lush countryside, there are a plethora of places to eat - and as someone who has ate in like 90% in Cornwall, I can say I've tried a lot!

These five places are ones myself and the family visit each time we go on holiday there, and I've yet to be disappointed in a single meal from any of these places.

Fort Inn, Newquay

Just around the far end of the high street, and on the way to Fistral Beach and the Headland Hotel, this pub/restaurant is perfect for lunch and dinner. It gets very busy, very quickly between 12 and 2 in the afternoon, so getting there a little early is wise!

They have a wide range of foods - my dad is a fan of their steak pies, and my sister loves their cheese sandwiches - and it's always a big portion, so you won't be hungry. Above is my fave meal at the Fort Inn... My trusty chicken and bacon caesar salad!

The White House, Truro

No, not where Trump resides... Above is another chicken and bacon caesar salad, which again, I have each time we go here. We usually eat here 2-3 times each holiday, as it's on the way home from a few locations so is easy to access. They have a lovely roast dinner buffets on Sundays, and there's a couple of large pool tables and fruit money machines to play on!

Golden Guinea, Looe

We've been eating here every year we've gone to Cornwall during our Looe visits. They have a good range of dinners on offer, but me and Dad religiously have their roast dinners as they're sooooooooo yummy! Above is a nice beef dinner, which is delicious and a nice serving of veggies when you've had nothing but junk food all holiday!

Slades House Country Inn, Wadebridge

This pub is a new fave from a few years ago! We drove past it one day and Dad made it his mission to go back for food one afternoon. We were not disappointed! The staff were super friendly, and the owner was having a chat with a load of the customers, which was a lovely touch to the atmosphere! The portions are massive here, and the burger and chips I had above, were only half consumed!

My Dad and Grandad both had super large cod and chips which took them nearly 30 minutes to polish off, so you could easily split some meals between two people.

King Arthur's Arms, Tintagel

Ahh the new fave! This is one we sadly can't go back to all that often as it's very out of the way for us to get to! Where we stay is a while away from Tintagel, and though there isn't a great deal to do there, this pub is honestly worth the trip. Tintagel is the supposed home area of King Arthur and Merlin, so there are a lot of visitors there each year, and the pub is named after the famous King!

There's free WIFI, which is always a bonus, and the food is amazing. I had this beauty of a Ploughmans salad when we went the first time, and it was the best dinner I had the whole holiday!

So those are my fave places to dine in Cornwall when on holiday! If you've been to Cornwall, let me know your fave places to go, as I'd love to try them out! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Cornwall Holiday Diary, Days Thirteen & Fourteen

Hello everyone!

Day Thirteen and Fourteen: Day 13 was our last full day in Cornwall so we spent the morning in Newquay for a last shopping trip before spending the afternoon down at the beach and cave exploring! We packed up that evening and by 6am on day 14, we were in the car for our 7 hour journay back home! We didn't have any accidents on the way home (yay!) However, after leaving the heat of Cornwall, we arrived home to rain :( What a holiday!

You can watch the vlog for these two days HERE.

The 'I'm a Rock' one was done by another beach go-er and then we done the other three! Mine was about my twitter, which has since changed!
Sunny beach at 6pm in the evening before going back to pack | The following day, back home - the rain began :)

We had such a great holiday and cannot believe how nice the weather was. The past 7 years of Cornwall holidays have been horribly rainy for 90% of the holiday, so this was sooo nice to have hot sunshine for the two weeks! I really hope you liked these posts and that is this series over with! Have a great day and keep safe :)

Cornwall Holiday Diary, Day Twelve

Hello everyone!

Day Twelve: Today we went to the King Edward Mine (KEM) for a look around the old mining site and to see how the process of ore and tin was sorted. There was also a nature walk to some of the old mine buildings which was nice, a part for it being so hot outside we felt like we were melting! We then headed to the White House for dinner, before going to Perranporth for a shop and wander around. The weather was once again gloriously hot!

You can watch the vlog for this day HERE.

Um... this was a thing (aka I don't remember for the life of me what this was) | The 'wobbly thing' that sorted the tin!

One of the old Stamping buldings | A lone horse in a field on the nature walk

Dinner at the White House | Perranporth beach

We had a really nice hot day again! The KEM was interesting, but it was so hot that the nature walk was just too much effort and I got heat stroke (again) from this day! Dinner at the White House was delicious as usual and we have yet to have a bad meal there! Perranporth was packed with people as expected in the heat, so we stuck to the shops and bought a few little trinkets and gifts for people as this was our second to last full day on holiday!

The next Cornwall post will be the last of this holiday series, so I hope you've been enjoying them! Have a great day and keep safe :)

Cornwall Holiday Diary, Day Eleven

Hello everyone!

Day Eleven: Today we went to Truro and Falmouth! Again the weather was really nice and hot, which is perfect for trekking around both places as they are all shopping locations. I bought a lot of beauty bit again! Had dinner at the Rumbling Tum in Falmouth before hitting up Trago Mills and then we went home! A very long day!

You can watch the vlog for this day HERE.

We had a really nice sunny day again from Truro and Falmouth which is unheard of for our family - our entire family have had years on end where the only days it rained was when we went to Truro and Falmouth! This is also one of the days where I hardly took pictures or filmed anything as there was a lot of walking and shopping involved! Hope you enjoyed this as the final two posts are coming soon!

Cornwall Holiday Diary, Day Ten

Hello everyone!

Day Ten: Today we went to Looe, which is a little seaside town with a few shops and places to eat - basically like all of Cornwall. Looe is about an hour or so away from where we stay so it was a nice early start to the day! After Looe we went to Trago Mills which is a very large sorta discount store. I love it there. I could spend all my money in there very easily. We didn't do much once we got back as it was getting pretty late, but I did find a gigantic spider in the bathroom!

You can watch the vlog for this day HERE.

NELSON! | The water was so clear, we all wanted to jump in it.

Our fave tea room in Looe and it's above a sweet store!

Solero! | Banjo Pier

Granded enjoying and ice cream | High tide mark in the town

Words cannot describe how good this dinner was. We eat here every time we are in Looe, so I recommend it!

We had a really nice sunny day for Looe, and it was nice to be back there after not seeing it for two years! Also, getting to see where the high tide mark was in the town during the bad winter weather they had in February was pretty scary. It was halfway up the high street and we'd have been nearing knee deep in it! Hope you liked this little snippet of the holiday and look out for day eleven soon!

Cornwall Holiday Diary, Day Nine

Hello everyone!

Day Nine: Today we went back to Crealy as we had our 7 day free return ticket! The weather was a lot hotter for this second trip and the pictures below do not do it justice! The vlog for today (which is linked below) shows you the rides and what we got up to a lot better!

You can watch the vlog for this day HERE.

Swapbusters | Dinner at the Newquay Arms

We had a pretty great day and the sun meant we were hot all day! The log flume got us totally soaked and I had wet shoes for the rest of the day! After Crealy we went to Newquay for dinner and a mini shop, before heading back home! Hope you enjoyed this installment of the holiday as there aren't many left to go!

Cornwall Holiday Diary, Day Eight

Hello everyone!

Day Eight: Today was our 'stay at camp' day. As Saturday is change over day and the Cornish roads get really busy with traffic, we always stay at the campsite and the beach for the day. Grandad didn't share this idea so he went to Padstow on the bus for the day, while the three of us went for a cliff walk, mini golf and dinner! It was really nice to just have a walk around and explore for the day and not have to travel anywhere!

You can watch the vlog for this day HERE.

The scenery and weather was so damn pretty today!

Our beach view from the cliff top | Lunch for the day!

Golfing around down at Berryfields
We had dinner at the Tradea Inn which is at the end of the road where our campsite is. This is the view of our beach from the restaurant! Me and dad had this yummy homemade burger and chips!

It was another really good day and I got a nice tan from it! It was also nice to just wander around and get a lot of pictures of the area again, as I missed going last year and so many of the cliff tops have changed as some have crumbled away into the sea now. That dinner was so delicious and I would definitely have that again when we go next year!
