Monthly Favourites #14 - May

It's that time of the month where I look back and share some of my fave things with you! Ranging from songs, TV and movies, to whatever lies in the random section!

Song
I am still obsessed with Fifth Harmony, and their new album 7/27 came out on Friday and it's AMAZING. This song is their newest single after Work From Home, and it's another one that I love!

Picture
My favourite picture from this month has to be this one of my Bullet Journal handwriting page! I loved trying to do some that I'd seen online, as well as some of my own! It's just a nice colourful page in the journal and I'm so happy that I started bujo-ing!

TV Show
I have been meaning to watch the Flash since it came out after Arrow allowed it to do a spinoff - and I finally got round to it this month! Not quite finished the first season yet, but it's amazing and Grant Gustin is amazing!

Movie
Having watched the about two trailers this year, I'd forgot this was coming out until I looked on our local cinema listing! I went to see it a few days after it was released, and I loved it!! The fight scenes were amazing, the CGI was incredible and I dread to think of the budget!! I was dubious about Sophie Turner being Jean Grey, but she was pretty awesome. Loved the movie!

Random Section
So for the random section, I've gone with this image of my Bakers Day cake that the company kindly sent me! I loved that I could personalise it with an image of my own - plus it tasted bloody lovely! Definitely recommend these!

Hope you enjoyed these faves for May! What have you loved this month from each category? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe!

Baker Days Letterbox Cake* Review

Last week I was contacted by the Baker Days team on Twitter, about trying one of their letterbox cakes. After a few emails, it was sorted for me to have a personalized 5 inch letterbox cake. I picked a simple cake from their website, and attached an image I wanted on the cake.

There are a variety of cake choices, such as vanilla sponge as chocolate - along with different sizes. I had the vanilla sponge option as it was the basic one. This size and type of cake usually retails for £14.99.

It arrived on Tuesday, and came with some Love Hearts and in it's own little tin. I love that I can keep the tin after consuming the cake! It claims to be able to stay fresh for 14 days, which is a long time - but I never have cake for this long to know if this is true or not!

The cake was nice and simple, and I loved that it had a nice picture of my, my sister and dad on it! I'm quite tempted to order another one to send to my sister!

For someone who is super fussy with icing, I really enjoyed this! It was really tasty and soft, which I really liked. The sponge was moist and a little crumbly, which is how I like it! It was big enough for 4 portions! I shared half between me and my Dad on the Tuesday and he gave it rave reviews - but said he personally wouldn't pay the price for this gift, even though it was yummy! I then had the other half with Cameron on Wednesday and he really liked it too - and he is super fussy with food!

I would definitely buy this as a gift for a birthday or present of sorts as it's a lovely personal touch if you can add pictures. The price is a little high for my liking, but any lower would mean compromising on the quality!

Have you tried any Baker Days products before, and if so, what did you think? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

2016 Goals | Check In

Personal & Resolutions Goals
  1. Lose some weight/tone up
    • So far lost a few pounds and toned up in some areas!
  2. Learn to take better pictures
    • Not even started this yet!
  3. Drive somewhere new
    • Not yet!
  4. Go to the cinema at least 5 times
    • Done! Seen 4 films so far, one of which we saw twice! Also have 2 more trips lined up!
  5. Carry on with the job search/get a new job
    • I didn't find a new job, but I have moved to a new department at work (deli counter) and I am much happier there. Just trying to sort more hours/contract hours out and hopefully I'll be on full time soon!
  6. Save up for holidays/outings
    • I'm doing pretty good with saving up for Florida next year, but as for the hen party, wedding and Marvel trip in London, I've not so much as saved a penny....
  7. Organise my room better
    • This has been partially done. My desk and clothes are all much better arranged!
  8. Get into a better sleeping routine
    • Not gone well so far. I sometimes have 6am starts at work, so 9am bedtime and up at 4:30am hasn't helped!
  9. Be more of an 'adult'
    • This has gone well in my opinion. I've cooked a lot more and not relied on my Dad to make sure my car is alright and that things get fixed indoors. I have my own toolbox, so I've been having way to much fun!
  10. Try and follow my resolutions!
    • I'm getting there slowly with this!

Blog Goals
  1. 750 Bloglovin followers 👍 Managed this back in March!
  2. 1400 Twitter followers 👍 I hit this mid January and currently have 3500+
  3. 450 Instagram followers 👍 Managed this on Feb 1st!
  4. 250 YouTube subscribers 👍 Mid March I hit this, so super happy with this!
  5. 150 Facebook page likes 👍 Hit this about a week in February!
  6. 150,000 blog page views -- Not hit this yet, but I'm on 109k right now, so might hit this by the end of the year!

Did you have any personal or blog goals for the new year, and how are you doing so far? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Charlotte Tilbury Glastonberry Lipstick

If you've been a follower of this blog for a while now, you'll know I'm not a massive lipstick fan - or of any lip product for that matter... However over recent months I've been trying more out and have come to like a few of them - and this one is just beautiful!

I won a Charlotte Tilbury lippy from the lovely Debra-Bow on twitter, in a giveaway she was hosting. The shade I was is called Glastonberry, and if you want to buy this for yourself, you can get it for £23 off the CT website, or for the same price from Selfridges.

This is the first CT product I've ever owned, so I was super excited about it as I've read a load of good reviews about their products. It was even worn by Poppy Delevingne at this year's Met Gala.

Like my MAC Instigator lipstick, Glastonberry is a dark berry purple with a slight red undertone to it, and is just such a lovely shade! The reason I love such a dark colour is that light shades such as pink, look pretty bad on me, but darker colours work better! It is a super creamy and smooth formula, and like the Instigator lipstick again, it is perfect for a 'vampy' makeup look.

And there isn't any odd scent to it, which is something I find super off-putting from some brands.

Considering I don't usually like lip products, I loved this! Have you ever tried a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick or any other products at all, and what did you try out? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
