Fragrance Direct Haul | Beauty

Hello everyone!

As you already know, I am a very, very big lover of Fragrance Direct. Good brands and really good prices. If you've not yet taken a look at their site, you are missing out on some bargains! I couldn't resit the urge to look again the other day, and I purchased four things while on there. Four things for me is a pretty small shop for me off the site!

Dad greeted the postman and I was given this big package and then realized what it was! Inside were my goodies and thankfully the polishes hadn't broken, which I always worry about.

First is my ever faithful and all time fave perfume! My old bottle ran out the day before I got this one, so very happy with how fast it got to me! This is Playboy's Play It Rock, which I have been using for about three or four years. I love the smell and the bottle shape, so I use this every day. This cost £5.99.

I was also on the hunt for some black polishes for some nail art designs I have in mind, but my black sadly dried up a while ago. I couldn't quite tell what these two would look like when I chose them, but thankfully one was black, and the other is a chocolate/black colour - which I also don't own, so happy with this! On the right is Cutex Quick N Go in 700 Night Run. On the left is Maybelline MNY in #466. These were both 75p each.

Lastly is the main purchase which I included in a recent wishlist. I've seen this brand and some others in some 'get ready with me' videos and on some beauty blogs, so decided to find some of my own. These were the only ones on Fragrance Direct, so I decided to get them. These are the Tresemmé Volume Rollers, for £25.95. There are ten rollers and ten metal clips to secure them once you have rolled them up. The little carry case is perfect for travelling or just for home use. The carry case is plugged in and then switched on, so that after 10 minutes the rollers are heated and you then use them how you wish. I gave them a brief try and they did curl a little, but I hadn't used any styling spray like suggested, so will be trying this again soon!

Have you purchases anything off the site recently? If yes, let me know if you done a post on it too :) I love the site, so go check it out! Hope you're having a great day and keep safe :)

The Hobbit | Nerdfest

Hello everyone!

Today's post is different from the usual! You might be used to fashion and beauty posts accompanied with some life things mixed in, but not today! As you might see in the header for my blog, the last section is 'nerdfest.' This is my little nerdy part on the blog where I just geek out and have a fangirl moment. I have done a couple of posts for this section before, but this is about to get taken up a level.

So if you're not much of a fan of all things geeky or Hobbit/Lord of the Rings (LOTR) related, then you might want to leave now! If not, then keep on reading and divulge into this obsession with me!

If you've followed me for a while, you will know how much I love the LOTR movies and now the amazing Hobbit films. LOTR has been watched to death and the two current Hobbit films are just refueling my love for the story. I spotted a Legolas figure while in The Works the other day and my sister kindly purchased him for me as a thank you for driving her places.

He's a nice little £2.99 in store right now in their sale, so she bought him and here he is! Legolas is my favourite Elf in the LOTR, and though he isn't actually in the Hobbit books, he was included in the films which I didn't mind! I think it was by fan demand actually.

The figure doesn't look a lot like Orlando Bloom who plays the Elf, but there is enough resemblance to get by with!

He comes with a bow and sword, plus a quiver that has a few arrows and a dagger inside! After I assembled him with his gear, he was placed on my nerd shelf! Legolas is about the size of my hand, so quite decent.

Then a few days later we wandered into town again and into the Entertainer. They had a sale on, so I set my Dad the task of finding me the figures in case they had some, and they did! The choices were: Bilbo & Gollum, Balin & Dwalin or Fili & Kili. Dilemma. Well as you can see from below, Fili and Kili won as they are my fave duo in the Hobbit films and the actors that play them are oh-so good looking. They were £6.50 after being reduced from £13.

Above: Kili, who doesn't look much like Aidan Turner. Little Kili came with a war hammer and bow, and the quiver is already attached to him.

Above: Fili, who again looks not a lot like Dean O'Gorman who plays him in the films! Fili comes with two swords/daggers!

And here they are both equipped for battle. I don't mind that they don't look exactly like the actors, as the rest of the figures are perfect to how they looked in the movies. I'd like to have got these in the same size as Legolas, but these were all that they had! These are the size of my palm, so small enough to go on the nerd shelf alongside Legolas!

Hope you enjoyed this even if it isn't something you normally read or expect on my blog! Hope you're having a great day and keep safe :)

Bowling, Shopping, Food | My Life

Hello everyone!

Even though I will probably make a video at some point on what I got up to on Tuesday, I feel my blog explains things better! Due to it being half term right now in the UK, my sister has a week off college so my Dad booked the week as holiday off work so we could all do things. The storm here has hindered that a little, but we still went out on Tuesday for some fun!

Warning: This is probably going to be a long post, full of pictures and random ramblings!

First we went bowling.

The Hollywood Bowl center and some balls!
Public selfies! I love the one of all three of us :)
My two bowling buddies! For some reason, my sister is extra tanned and Dad looks like Caspar attacked him!
Casual action shots of us all having our turns!
Game scores

Next we had a wander around the local market, which sucked basically. It used to be so good when I was a kid, but sadly it is really just a lot of junk and food on offer now. From there we headed to Homebase for a shower hose thingy and then had a wander around Smyths toy store!

The Market | My sister, the public bather | Avenging in Smyths!
Last stop for the day was to go and get some late lunch and early dinner. Choosing Notcutt's Fayre & Square pub, we headed there and managed to get a seat during rush hour!

Mine: Sausages, Mash, Peas & Yorkshires | Sister's: Cheese & Onion Baguette | Dad's: Steak & Ale Pie, Mash & Peas
Mine: Strawberry Shortcake Sundae | Sister's : Profiteroles| Dad's: Millions Shortcake Sundae

Well that was Tuesday in a nutshell! I've not done a blog post this long for a very long time, so I hope you made it to the end and didn't get too bored. It was nice spending the day with my dad and sister, and we had a lot of fun! If I feel like it, I'll make a video from all the clips I filmed that day too :)

Hope you're having a great day and keep safe :)

My Valentines Day | My Life

Hello everyone!

Well my valentines day was just another day to me, but I did get to see my wonderful friend Billy - aka my Fusband! I had a pretty boring day up until then, yet I had the crazy idea to vlog my day. You can check out the video below to see what I got up! If you like it, please like and subscribe to my channel :)

And he got me a valentines card, which was the best thing I had seen all day! Perfect for us two Harry Potter fans!

The following day I exchanged gifts with Nic and Lisa who had bought me little gifts too. I got Lisa's soaked during a hail storm on the way to work, but thankfully they weren't damaged.

Nic gave me this card signed by her and her 3 year old daughter Andi who I call my niece (long story behind this one), and this amazing little beauty set! I've seen some of these on blogs over the past few months, so very excited to try this out.

Lisa bought me this hilarious card! She said she got a lot of weird looks as she bought it for me, and I sat in the canteen at work laughing my head off when I read it! She wanted to keep clear of chocolates for me, due to the nut allergy, so got me this little love heart pillow! I'm either going to have this in my car or somewhere in my room :)

Did you get any nice Valentines gifts? Hope you're having a great day and keep safe :)

Wax On, Wax Off | Beauty

Hello everyone!

I, like many other women worldwide are a fan of waxing. Normally I would get it done at a salon or by one of my beautician friends. Sadly, this is a little too expensive for me right now, so I've taken to the home waxing method as of late. I've been doing my eyebrows for months with utmost confidence. Yet when it comes to my legs (or other areas) I can't seem to bring myself to inflict the pain upon myself.

But today was a different matter. TMI ALERT: I waxed my inner thighs by myself for the first time and ouch. Lesson of the day: Tear the strip the opposite direct to the hair. Don't do a Tania and wax it the wrong direction, because let me tell you, IT HURTS. And also doesn't do the job properly. I learnt my lesson pretty quickly and managed to do what I wanted within 10 minutes along with other smaller sections of my legs.

I'm curious to what you all do for hair removal, and if you home wax, what products do you use? I'm a little to cheap to buy the 'good' brand products, so I've taken to using Morrisons own.

The ones on the top are for your legs and any other larger body surface you wish to rip the hair from. On the bottom are ones for the face, so your eyebrows and also the bikini line.

This is all they are. You warm them between your hands to make the wax sticky and so it actually works. Or you can warm them up by laying the on your laptop until you need them like I do!

What do you use? I'd like to see what other brands or methods I can try that might be a little less painful! Hope you're having a great day and keep safe :)

Friendship Valentines!

Happy Valentines day everyone!

If you've been with me for a while now, you'll know I am a singleton, (and loving it) plus I've never been a big fan on Valentines day... Even when I was with someone. But this year is different! Myself and three of my closest girlfriends are all doing a gift swap for each other for the day. One of us is married, two of us are single and the other is divorced, and kinda seeing someone!

We've all gone out and bought each other small things for the day. I thought I'd snap some pictures of what I've done for them, and will then show you what I received next week! I bought them two chocolate items and then a little beauty gift, and here they are!

I bought each of them a card and sprinkled a few of the small and large hearts into each!
Each has one of these bags as themed bags seemed to be non-existent.  I used some heart tissue paper to cover the gifts in the bag.
Gift One: A chocolate rose!
Gift Two: A little net of chocolate hearts
Baylis & Harding gift set
Baylis & Harding gift set
Baylis & Harding gift set

I'm quite impressed how much I managed to get here for not a lot of money either. We didn't want a huge blow out of money (as we're all broke), so I was pretty thankful that the Co-Op had a lot of things on offer for me to pick up!

How are you celebrating Valentines day? Single or with a date? Hope you have an awesome day and keep safe :)

Wishlist | #3

Hello everyone!

Another little set of gadgets I'd like to try and get at some point! I need a new Ipod as mine is almost broken, and a nice new pair of headphones would be great too!

1- Apple Ipod Touch 32GB | £219.99
2- Beats By Dr.Dre Solo HD | £129.95
3- Apple Ipod Touch 64GB | £299.99
All from Argos

I don't stand much chance of getting the Beats, but I've loved them for ages and the sound quality is what attracted me to them. I'm still on the lookout for a new Ipod, so hopefully one of this is within a price range for me.

Hope you're having a great day and keep safe :)

Box Swap With Abbie!

Hello everyone!

So at the start of the year I was considering doing a box swap, so I tweeted about it to see if anyone would be interested in doing one with me. Luckily a day or so before, Abbie had tweeted the same thing, so when I done mine, so replied and we agreed to do one! I've been excited about it all January! We agreed on a price range of £15-£20 and then we would send them in the last week of January. I received mine on Friday and was very excited to open it up. Considering we both live quite a distance from one another, the boxes arrived pretty quickly! Now that everything has been photographed, I can share with you what was in my box from Abbie!

You can find Abbie over on NotJustACurl and her box swap post is HERE.

I was greeted with this parcel from the Postman on Friday and realised what it was straight away, so ran to my room to open it! Inside was this amazingly wrapped box, tied with a ribbon and a little message for me was slipped under it.

Inside was this little note card where Abbie had left me a message :)

Opening up the ribbon and the packaging, I was greeted with this beautiful sight (I've stood the notebook up) and actually squealed as I'd spotted something I almost bought the other day!

Firstly is this little spotty notebook which is now in my handbag ready for notes and doodling when I have a spare moment at work! I'll also be using this for blog and video ideas while out and about :) This is the perfect size for my bag as well, so very handy! Next is this NYC Liquid Eyeliner which I've never tried before, so I am looking forward to trying this out! This is in 887 Black. I've only recently discovered the NYC range, so this has now added to it! It come with the precision tip so hopefully this will stop me being so messy!

These beautiful rings are from Primark! I actually saw these about Christmas time in the store and almost bought them, so glad I didn't know! One is silver and the other is black, and you can wear them either as stack rings or separately! I've been wearing them over the weekend and feel very sparkly with them on.

Firstly is the Maybelline Color Show nail polish in 265 Wine Shimmer. I LOVE this colour and it's sparkly as well which won me over the second I saw it. Will definitely be wearing this on my next night out! I've never had a Maybelline polish before, so I'm excited to try this out! It looks amazing on my nail wheel, so I know I'll love this when I wear it. Next is the Essie 280 Pink About It. I already have this, but Abbie didn't know that until she had sent the box (Sorry!!!) But, as I've used mine a lot, I will need another soon anyway, so it won't be going to waste!

Lastly are these two wonderful MUA products. If you read my MUA Eye Shadow review post from the other day, you will know that this is a new brand that I've discovered. When in town the other day I almost picked up the eye shadow pallette, but then didn't as I was rushed from the store! I love all the colours in this and the purple is what caught my eye. This is the Glamour Nights pallette.
The bottom product is a blusher called Bubble Gum! I love how rosy this colour is and it will look perfect with my complexion! Both are really nice and pigmented, so they will last me while and will be used a lot.

Once I've tried them all out properly, I'll do a proper review on them all :) Thank you Abbie so much for doing this box swap with me, I had so much fun picking things out for you and I love all the things you've got for me :)

Have you guys ever done a box swap? Hope you're having a great day and keep safe!
