What I Got For Christmas 2016

I had an amazing Christmas and festive period with my friends and family, and before the New Year rolls in, I wanted to do a final post about Christmas, in the form of a WIGFC post! I took most of these pictures on my phone so sorry for the quality, but I was too excited to take them all properly with my camera!

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to brag or show off, I just wanted to share these as I like to see what other people got themselves! So please link me you yours if you've done a similar post!

Rapunzel, Mulan & Merida Christmas tree ornaments!

Presents from my Mum!

Presents from Abbi, Jackie and Lauren!

Presents from my Sister & her boyfriend Mosh!

Presents from my best friend Nicola - who was super naughty this time!

Presents from my Dad!

I was spoiled beyond belief and am so grateful for everything I received. I'll be using a lot of these beauty bits over the next few months, so will be reviewing them at some point!

What did you get for Christmas? Let me know on twitter on in the comments if you've done a post/vlog about your gifts! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

2016 Film Faves

I love movies, and I've seen so many this year! I beat my anxiety and went to the cinema so many times - meaning I got to see a load of new releases when they came out, instead of having to wait for the DVD! It's been hard to narrow it down to just 6 films, but these are the top of my list from the epic films that have been released this year!

This movie was hysterical and I'm so glad it's Reynolds portraying him! I wasn't 100% sure about Deadpool from the little snippet we saw of him from one of the X-Men movies many years ago - but thankfully the 'new' version of him is so much better!

This film was so tense! I was team Capt all the way, even though I love Iron Man! It was such a good film and loved how it ended. Plus it introduced us to the new Spiderman, who I thought was pretty awesome!

I had mixed feelings about this when it was in production, but the trailer made me feel better. And then I saw the film.
Loved it!! I really hope we see all the characters a lot over the 5 movie franchise - even the lovely No-Maj Jacob! I also really want a Niffler...

I went to see this with Cameron on the 22nd, as he'd been wanting to see it since it had been announced! I like Star Wars, but I'm not as big a fan of it as Cam is! I was thoroughly confused with where this story fit into the saga, but thank God my boyfriend explained it to me before I watched it!
It was really good and albeit a bit confusing to me for the first 20 minutes, it really kicked in with some action and I loved the characters! Such a good film and it really did fix the franchise's biggest plot hole!

Having been a Harley Quinn fan since about October 2015, I was super excited about this movie as it was all the baddies in one movie - plus we'd be getting a new Joker. There were some parts of the film that bugged me and made no sense, but I still loved it. I loved Margot's version of Harley, and Leto's version of the Joker, even if he is a bit different to the ones we've had in the past.

I was obsessed with the first movie, and this was no different. I did miss Isla Fisher, but the way they handled her not being around any more, and giving us Lizzy Caplan as a new Horseman, it was awesome. I watched this five times in a week, that's how much I loved it. I just really enjoy magic!!
Plus, finally seeing Daniel Radcliffe in something other than the Potter movies and a non-scary film, was just such a nice thing to watch on the big screen!

What have been your fave films for the year 2016? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

2016 Goals - Final Review

At the start of the year, I shared with you my goals for the year. I then done a little catch up about them in May, and had actually done some, or was near finishing a few of the others. Well, it's now the end of the year, so about time I done a final review and check in of them!

I'll be thinking of some new ones for 2017, and might try harder on some of these if I've not done too well...

Personal & Resolutions Goals
  1. Lose some weight/tone up ✔👍
    • I managed to lose almost a stone and then put some of that back on! Sadly didn't do to great with this one, but I have lost some weight since the start of the year, so I'm calling this done!
  2. Learn to take better pictures✔👍
    • I figured out how to take and edit pictures a lot better, so totally achicved this one IMO!
  3. Drive somewhere new✔👍
    • Yes! Was only somewhere about 20 minutes away, but involved a Motorway and a shit load of roundabouts
  4. Go to the cinema at least 5 times✔👍
    • Done! Saw 13 films at the cinema this year, but next year we're hoping to do this a lot more
  5. Carry on with the job search/get a new job✔👍
    • I didn't find a new job, but I have moved to a new department at work (deli counter) and I am much happier there - both with my motivation and my emotions before/during/after each shift
  6. Save up for holidays/outings✔👍
    • I really did well on this. I've not had too much to save up for, but I hit all my savings goals on track
  7. Organise my room better ❌👎
    • This had been done in July/August, but it's since got so messy and unorganised again, so fail here!
  8. Get into a better sleeping routine ❌👎
    • Not happened at all! I've been doing a lot of 6am shifts at work, meaning I'm up at 5:45am and it's not done well for my sleep
  9. Be more of an 'adult' ✔👍
    • This has gone well in my opinion. I've cooked a lot more and not relied on my Dad to make sure my car is alright and that things get fixed indoors. I have my own toolbox, so I've been having way to much fun! I've also done a load of banking, car, work and life 'things' all by myself without help!
  10. Try and follow my resolutions! ✔👍
    • I don't think I've done too bad with my resolutions or goals for the year - even if I did struggle with some of them! I'm calling it a win for the year!

Blog Goals
  1. 750 Bloglovin followers 👍 Managed this back in March!
  2. 1400 Twitter followers 👍 I hit this mid January and currently have 4600+
  3. 450 Instagram followers 👍 Managed this on Feb 1st! Currenly over 1000!
  4. 250 YouTube subscribers 👍 Mid March I hit this, so super happy with this! Now over 330!
  5. 150 Facebook page likes 👍 Hit this about a week in February!
  6. 150,000 blog page views -- Not hit this yet, but I'm on 139k right now, so don't think I'll hit it before the end of the year sadly! Can't say I've done bad though - I started the year on 82.004 views, so to end on about 140k is amazing!

Did you have any personal or blog goals for the new year, and how are you doing so far? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

My Fave Christmas Memories

Oh it's the Friday before the big day on Sunday, which means I've been having a look back at my family pictures from the past few Christmases.

So, naturally, I wanted to share some of them with you! I have so many, but these ones have made me laugh! Hope you enjoy a peek into the festive past!

Here's me with my cousins, Daniel & Lucy back in 1993! I was about 15 months old here, and taken at my Aunt's house! We still go here each year!

In 1993 again, for my first, partially white Christmas! Made this dodgy looking snowman with my Aunt at my Nan and Grandad's house!

I think this is about 1998/9, so I was about 7 - and on the PS1! I had wanted it for ages, and was lucky enough to get it as my first games console! And look at the Furby's!!!!

With my sister Ash in 2001, having the pic of the two of us with our 'joint' gifts each year! We were always forced to do this picture...

My lovely Nan in 2002! She had been helping my Aunt cook all day, but came out to see us playing with the presents now and then! I miss her each Christmas, but I'm so glad to have the pictures of her with us all.

All the family in 2003 having dinner! Can't wait for this food on Sunday!!

2014 - Fireworks and sparklers in my Aunt's garden! Lucy was trying to a figure of 8 here, but it didn't go quite right!

And finally, in 2015, with all the family at my Aunt's house as usual! Managed to get a picture of all of us for the first time in years! Even managed to get Grandad in this, even though he had no idea we were actually taking the picture! I've got a selfie stick now, so hoping to get a better one of all us this year!

Hope you enjoyed this slightly different throwback past! Have you got any fun pictures of your Christmases? Let me know! Hope you have a great weekend and a lovely Christmas with all your friends and family! :)

Christmas Tag

It's only a few more days until Christmas, and I am so excited! Sadly I have a shift until midnight today, and then a shift on Christmas Eve, but then I'm free for 2 days! If you want to do this yourself, then please do! Here it goes...
  1. Fave Christmas film?
    • Love Actually! It's such a feel good movie!
  2. What holiday traditions are you looking forward?
    • Playing an unreal amount of board games and eating so much junk food
  3. Ever had a white Christmas?
    • I think I did when I was a child, but I don't really remember it - and we've had a little bit of slushy snow here and there over the years - but not enough!
  4. Where do you usually spend your holidays?
    • At my Aunt Jackie's house with my Uncle, cousins, Grandad, Dad and Sister!
  5. Fave Christmas song?
    • Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses
  6. Pro-wrapper or serious fail?
    • I don't do to bad, but there are times it looks horrible!
  7. Fave Christmas treat?
    • Celebrations chocolates! They have the Malteser one which is my fave
  8. Do you make New Year's resolutions?
    • I did this year, I've managed to stick to pretty much all of them!
  9. What makes the holidays special to you?
    • Getting to see my family as I don't see them so often in the year :)
  10. Real or fake tree?
    • Fake - no pine to fall down and embed in my foot
  11. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve?
    • Not usually, but I did last year as I was at my boyfriend's!
  12. Can you name all of Santa's Reindeer?
    • Hell yes I can!! Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph with his red nose!
  13. Giving or receiving gifts?
    • I like receiving them to see what people have got me, but I like to see people's reactions to their gifts too - especially if it's one I've put a lot of thought into
  14. Best gift you've ever got?
    • My Mum got me a sewing kit last year and it has been so practical
  15. Dream place to spend the holidays?
    • Wouldn't mind going somewhere like Canada for a Winter get away!
  16. Memorable Christmas moment?
    • My Aunty Jackie falling through her chair just as she sat down for dinner and she knocked it all down her!
  17. What made you realise the truth about Santa?
    • I'd had a hunch for a while, but my Mum decided to tell me when I was 11 and in Argos buying my sister's presents. Cheers Mum.

I hope you all have the most wonderful Christmas on Sunday, and that no matter where in the world you are, that you have fun and don't forget to keep safe :)

Fave Christmas Films

I love Christmas.

I love being able to see my family and spend time with them. I love the food. I love the joy that seems to hang in the air. I also love the festive movies (or generally films that air this time of year!) I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the Christmas films, but there are some that I always watch this time of year!

1 - Love Actually
I'm not much of a rom-com person, but this makes me laugh and is just such a feel good movie for this time of year. I only watched this for the first time about 6 years ago, and I didn't like it to start with, but the older I've got and the more empathy I've had with some characters (Karen mainly!), I've come to love it! In fact, I've watched it about 5 times in the past week alone...

2 - Home Alone
A classic Christmas film which plays constantly on TV through December and then the sequels... All before repeating every night on ITV2... It's also one of the few Christmas films that I can watch over and over again, without getting bored of it!

3 - Philosopher's Stone
Technically not a Christmas film, but the whole Potter Saga seems to be on each weekend over the festive period, and who doesn't love the idea of a Christmas at Hogwarts?! Plus, this has one hella awesome Christmas scene and that totally makes up for it not being a festive movie in general!

4 - The Santa Claus
One of my fave films from my childhood! One of Tim Allen's best films! I loved this one, but wish there had been no sequels as it totally ruined this original. I haven't seen this as much as I'd have liked to, but it's pretty funny to watch on a winter evening.

5 - Star Wars
I've included this for a few reasons. It's not a Christmas movie, but the first time I saw any of the series, was in 2005 and it was two nights before Christmas and I had no idea what I was watching, but I loved the characters and the story. Thankfully it was Phantom that I saw first so it was in story order, but it was the only one I had seen and I loved it. I loved Jar-Jar too - AND NO ONE CAN CHANGE THAT OPINION.
I watch this every year all the way through now, and have now started to add in Awakens!

What are your fave films for the holidays? Any the same as me? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

The Hassle Free Razor!

Being a girl who likes smooth legs, it is sometimes so time consuming and annoying to put into action. Most of the time, I just wear jeans, so I don't have to worry about my Wookie legs being on show - but this is a season for party dresses and fancy heels.

So a girl has to shave.

I've not had a leg wax since 2014 as I only really go down that route if I'm going on holiday! So the only other method I'll do it a razor!

Well sometimes, it's a long and arduous process of contorting yourself into various positions to make sure you've not missed anything on the backs of your legs with the stupid foamy, shaving gel crap - and you always miss a bit!

So I present you with the hassle free razor!

This wondrous razor is the Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor, retailing at a pretty £6.49 from Superdrug! I've been using this beauty for the past year or so, and I love it.

And it comes with a handy little bathroom wall holder with a little sucker on the back, so you can just hang it up in the shower once you're done with it!

There is no need for the shaving gel, as this has a lovely band of sensitive aloe vera soap around the razor, that acts as the gel, and leaves your legs feeling so soft afterwards! Each of the razor heads usually lasts me a good two-three weeks if I'm only using it once or twice a week. But, when the time comes for a new one as the lovely soap around it has whittled down, you'll need the refills, which come in a pack of 3 from Superdrug at £6.79 a box.

It means I'm no longer spending half my life trying to get the shaving gel all over my leg in an even coat, and it's not then sticking itself to other parts of me, the bath or the shower curtain! You just wet the razor, and off you go! Where you're so soft after using it, you can feel for any missed bits, but I've rarely had this issue, as the razor normally does a great job on the first go.

Goodbye winter Wookie legs!

Is this something you've tried before, and if so, did you find it easier to use? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Fave TV Shows Of 2016

I love TV more than I probably should - plus I found some great shows this year. My sister let me steal her Netflix, so she has a lot to answer for... Here are the TV shows I've really enjoyed this year!

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

Agent Carter: This year kicked off season 2 - which was also the last season. For some reason the ratings were not deemed high enough, so they cancelled the show, leaving us with a massive cliffhanger and less Hayley Atwell on our screens. Heartbroken.

I loved this series so much, and will miss it being one of the few TV shows with a strong female lead. Peggy clearly made an impact, as I saw so many women dressed as her at Comic Con this year. A show that is going to be missed in 2017!

Community: This ended in 2015, but it turned up on Netflix one day and I managed to get Cameron to watch a few episodes and he loved it! Which means this has been the go to series when we're not sure what else to watch. We've pretty much watched all 5 seasons, 3 times or more since Easter....

Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life: I loved this. I laughed, I cried like a baby throughout most of it, I want to watch it again and again. But I'll just skip over the bloody musical, which was a waste of time!!!! The last four words have left me needing just one more mini season to clear up so many things, but at the same time, I like to make my own ending.

Definitely something I was excited for all year, and I was not disappointed.

OITNB:  THIS SEASON. There was a bigger focus on race issues this time round, along with some Nazi branding and serious scary levels of tension in the prison - this was a nail biting season in places. The death that happened in the last few episodes had me crying all weekend as it was done so well on the show and really shook me up for some reason! I feel that P's death is going to drive a lot of the next season into really scary territory for the women of Litchfield!

The Flash: How I didn't start watching this until season 2 had started, I do not know. Cam let me borrow his DVD's of season 1 to see if I liked it, and I have become hooked! I managed to watch all of it and catch up to the latest season 2 episode in a week! Clearly I liked it.

I've loved the new season 3, and even though Barry really fucked up everything, I'm hoping he manages to fix it all by the end - without that recent future event actually happening! I'm super in love with Cisco, and he's been my fave all year!

There have been so many shows that I've watched this year, but I think these are the ones that stood out the most to me when I thought back about them all! What have been your fave TV shows from the year? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
